Well just got off the phone with Microsoft Technical Support. As expected, they downplayed the issue, stating it would be drivers and needed a clean install and what not, stating that I had done all that already, he said ok then indeed you have a hardware issue.
However, since my Surface is out of warranty, he kindly invited me request an out of warranty replacement for 450 USD. When I stated that it was a well know design flaw and has affected several users and that I shouldn't be paying for it, then he stated that it is not a design flaw, Microsoft hasn't published it in their knowledge base, and that therefore it doesn't qualify for a free replacement. I pointed him to this site and posts in their own forum, to which his response was that I shouldn't believe everything around the net, and that it is all fake news! What an ass!!!
So basically, I continue my original plan, just use this fucking thing until it becomes unusable, then see if I can use my Surface Pro 3 and eventually when I upgrade, buy a different brand.
Indeed I believe the same. You'll have to use it long enough for it to show it's ugly head!
Also called Microsoft support, they sure can replace my device as long as I shell 450 USD. They are nuts, I am not spending on dime in replacing this thing! But yeah they even called all the posts online FAKE NEWS!
Expensive lesson learned, never buying another Microsoft device again! Xbox one X I bought in November will definitely be the last one!

If you are still with in your one year manufacture warranty take it to a Microsoft Store, and see about getting it exchanged asap.
In the end the experience with my device is that it's based around a thermal problem.
Spending a few hours in the freezer has fixed my issue so far.
cannot stress this enough. If you still have warranty PLEASE use it ASAP and get the device replaced.
It is a hardware issue, no software fix will remedy it. You need to get the device replaced.
You don't have many options if your warranty has expired.
A Microsoft store can check your S/N and see if it maybe is in warranty and if it is its a exchange swap.
If it's not in warranty its a flat $450 for an exchange.
There are a few other troubleshooting options, but its more related to a hardware issue.
UPDATE #3: Screen shaking is back. Since my SP4 is out of warranty, Microsoft Singapore are offering an 'exchange to a similar device' for approximately 490 USD. At this point, I have no idea what the 'similar device' would potentially be, though I expect it to be a refurbished SP4 (which I am going to decline).
My exact experience with SP4 purchased in December 2015, I am afraid... i.e. started with a tiny shaking at the bottom of the screen, just a few lines. Then, the entire screen gets blurred as it shakes ever so slightly. Reading other posts, it's just the beginning

My flicker starts everytime the processor hits around 45°C and doesn't stop until the SP coools down. The problem is that this is my primary work device and because of the awful thermals my regular work session manages to heat the tablet beyond filckering temperature after 3 hours.
I have the SP4 with a Core I7 with 8 gigs of RAM and 256 gigs of HDD space and a type cover that is starting to fall apart just from typing (all the cloth corners begun to tear)
Needless to say I payed a hefty price for this piece of junk
Mine started last week. At first I thought it was infected with virus. I realized yester it is something most SURFACE owners are complaining of. What's up. Microsoft should REPLACE OUR TABLETS or Refund.
Was wondering: has anybody tried to use the Surface pen while the screen is flickering? I just tried, and interestingly, it appears to be repeatedly 'clicking', even when the pen is not touching the screen.
I'm wondering if the faulty chips are on the device's motherboard or the screen unit. Maybe replacing the screen will fix the problem, admittedly temporarily until the new chips get fried again...
Anyone tried this?
