@shanna3229 Replacement is really a gamble as far as I know but it's your only option to get this off this issue. MS provides 3 years coverage for FlickerGate affected devices so its better tho replace it early so that your replaced device have enough warranty remaining in case it turns out to be defective later
@amethystnw That's amazing! What I have been thinking about is making an application that gradually changes one of your pixels on-screen so the screen updates, similar to how showing seconds on the clock also updates the screen, but an 'always-working' version.
About the second idea, you can get HDMI screens from companies like Waveshare that also offer touch support, and are portable! For example the screen featured here. I've got one, but need to find that annoying Mini DisplayPort to HDMI converter!

I would also like to know if replacing the screen will stop the flickering issue. Or is this just a temporary solution until some other hardware issue damages the new screen?
Fixed my Surface. New screen is wonderful.
I tried this - Ran Trailer's in Windows Movies and TV app reduced the size, I could live with that but no still flickers, but after I switch off the app everything goes cool and flicker stops grrrr!!! Thanks for the suggestion.
@hennekkemmek thanks a lot for this "heavy load" tip. the closest MS store to my location is literally in another country. lol.
I started having flickergate a week ago after an MS update. flickering every few minutes or so covering about 98% of the screen, leaving 5 mm flicker free on top. flicker gone immediately when I touch the screen. then the craziness set in. Flicker all the way even to uefi and wouldn't go away even when I touched the screen.
I ve tried: punching the screen, slapping the back, hard press the screen, showing seconds on my clock, turning off vertical something, reset to uefi (with flicker on it), factory reset. I was going to buy a new laptop (NOT another SP for sure).
but this morning I read this, installed it, tried it, load the test for 2 minutes or so. restart. and now I am about on my 7 hours straight of flicker free. fingers cross it will stay this way.
