The Assorted List Of Possible Solutions, Varying In Price
-
Here are some solutions, going from cheapest to most expensive:
- FREE (requires registry tweaking): Set the clock in the taskbar so that it displays seconds. May help with screens that need constantly updating to prevent flickering. Tutorial: https://www.thewindowsclub.com/display-seconds-in-taskbar-clock-windows
- FREE (to extent of device age): Get a replacement from Microsoft. Due to the fact that they replace the computer itself, your data will be erased. More info: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/4230448/surface-pro-4-screen-flicker
- ~£25 (~$30): Clip on a little desktop fan to your Surface Pro to prevent it from getting too hot. Fan: https://www.amazon.co.uk/7-inch-Portable-Rotatation-Rechargeable-Battery/dp/B06Y69NDCX
- Up to ~£200 (~$250) (to extent of device age): Do the above, but back up your data first. Drives: https://www.ebuyer.com/store/Storage/cat/Hard-Drive---SSD/512GB
I have also been thinking about making a little always-on application that changes a pixel or two on your display to keep it updated and to hopefully stop the flickering.
Hope this helps, and please vote up!
