I guess I'm lucky, then...

So after a while with my Surface Pro 4 being affected with Flickergate, I decided to buy a new computer (I switched to Google and got a Pixelbook). Now, after leaving the Surface Pro for a few months, it seems like the Flickergate problem is resolved! The display no longer flickers ─ even when doing high-intensity and high-performance things!
I guess I'm lucky, but I should suspect that leaving your Surface Pro off for some time in a cool environment (talking about a month here) should hopefully prevent flickering when it's turned on again.
I thought the same until flickering came back. At the end battery became swollen and screen popped out. I guess if you use it on and off like that then it may remain fine.
